Factors to Consider When Moving To Greenwich

The area of Greenwich is located in South London, right next to the river Thames and it’s a wonderful area to live in. Transport is regular, parks are huge and overall it gives a lot to its residents. If you are planning to become a future resident of this area and do it in the near future, the following tips will save you lots of time browsing various guides and tutorials on how to relocate.

Moving house is an exciting experience, there is no doubt about that. But it’s also quite stressful and nerve-wracking. If you’ve never relocated before, then the move will seem even bigger and harder than it actually is. There are some things you need to take into consideration when moving in March.

The first thing to keep in mind is the weather. Weather in March can vary significantly from one day to another and there could be unexpected and sudden weather changes. Make sure that you are prepared for that, you’ve packed warm clothes in the essential bags and you have a jacket, umbrella and rain boots at hand’s reach. There is nothing worse than moving house in rain and mud, but
when moving to London, you need to be ready for that.

The other thing you should organize is the actual time line of the move. Make sure you have an idea when you’d like to settle in the new house as the move could take longer than expected. Plan every day with its own tasks so you don’t miss anything important. The things you need to plan according to day and budget include: taking inventory, doing a house clearance, finding packing material, packing the goods, packing the essential bags, disassembling furniture, wrapping furniture pieces and major appliances, loading the moving truck, transportation, unloading the moving truck, unpacking, arranging the new home, assembling the furniture, cleaning. Each of these tasks has its own rules and basics.

Prepare a checklist and make sure your family gets involved in the moving process too. The problem with moving in March is that your children will be going to school and the transition to a new one will be much harder. You need to contact the new school at least a few month earlier to make sure there is no problem for your children to finish the school year there. Don’t change their routines and try to be understanding as they will go through a variety of emotions. Look on the bright side of things, summer is coming and they will have a holiday to enjoy – an opportunity to explore the new area and the city, to meet new friends and concentrate on their hobbies. You need to make sure that you only take a few days to turn the empty space into your new home. It will be a tough job, but otherwise you won’t be properly settled down for weeks. Take days off from work and concentrate on getting things done around the house. Your children can help you after school so you manage to unpack everything and then focus on arranging, cleaning and even clearance.

A house move is always challenging, whether you’ve done it before or not. However, it’s an opportunity to start fresh and have a better life and this is a serious advantage.
