These Ten Tips Will Help the Process of Office Removals

As a manager or the person in charge of an office removal you may already know that the logistics and strategic planning involved in a full scale removal can seem almost impossible but that is why there are some things that everyone should do to help the move go smooth. These ten tips will help the process run at its most efficient and that is what is most important, not just so that nothing is left behind but also so that no business is lost due to the transition.

1) Let employees get involved in the move. Spreading around the responsibility will help things get done fast and on time. If there are 20 employees that can pitch in then that’s 20 less things that you need to do yourself. Just remember to assign the task of checking that everything is done to someone who can handle the task.

2) Remember to make extra copies of keys. If you are moving to a new office and some of the other employees will need keys remember to make copies and hand them out ahead of time.

3) Make sure all the employees know the location of the new office.

4) Call all clients and customers to let them know about the move. No business can run without clients or customers, so make sure every one of them is aware of the move and how to find the new office if necessary. This can be done in many different ways with today’s technology. Old fashion phone calls do the trick too.

5) Plan ahead for the IT end. It is hard to work without a computer nowadays, so plan ahead to have all the networking and internet installed before everyone arrives, this way the business can stay fully operational.

6) Hire a removal company to move the big stuff. Removal companies are a big help when it comes to an office removal and they are almost always needed. With employees involved in the removal it is a good idea to not let them move anything to heavy, this way no one gets injured and there is no reason for insurance claims. Removal companies have all the men and equipment needed for large, awkwardly shaped and heavy items, take advantage of that fact.

7) Have all the utilities connected. You don’t want to arrive at the new location and then have no electric. So make sure to schedule for the utility company to have it turned on a few days before arriving.

8) Plan a field trip. A field trip? A field trip! Just to be positive that everyone knows how to get to the new office plan a field trip for everyone. While everyone is in the new office exploring, let them know the layout. Where will the printer be? This is something that may need to be known.

9) Purchase the supplies needed for the new office ahead of time. This rule is mainly for toiletries, stock everything before everyone arrives.

10) Have a company meeting. To be certain that every employee is on the same page, call a meeting and go through the step by step and address concerns with employees.
